I am putting on a workshop with fellow children’s author, Darcee O’Hearn, about how to get published in today’s book market. It’s going to be an interesting look at self publishing versus traditional publishing and the pros and cons of each.
Hope you can join us in Rossland on Thursday, March 1st. Check out the poster or these articles in the in the Rossland News, Trail Times, and Kootenay Advertiser for more information.
If you can’t make it, maybe you’d like to organize a similar workshop in your area? Contact me – I’d love to hear from you!
Fellow writer, Deb Marshall, has designed her very own reading challenge based on The Toy Siren’s 2011 Debut Challenge. The Oh MG YA Canada Reading Challenge is to read at least one middle grade or young adult book by a Canadian author per month for the rest of the year. As part of both challenges, Deb will be interviewing me and giving away a copy of Trouble in the Trees in May. Check out her blog, Just Deb for lots of great reviews, interviews, and giveaways!
On May 12th I will be participating in Read Dating Vancouver, an event exclusively for authors and library employees to mix and mingle in a “speed dating” type forum to discuss and learn more about genres, authors, and library patron interests. I was very excited to see my book cover and name on the website today! Thank you Susan Lyons and Allison Richardson.
