Writing CRISPR

CRISPR: A Powerful Way to Change DNA is my first non-fiction book. In this author visit, I’ll introduce readers to gene editing with CRISPR and talk about the challenges of making complex concepts easy to understand. Aimed at High School students.

Writing CRISPR includes:

  • A series of photos showing items (including food, crops, animals, and people) that have been gene edited, where I ask the audience to guess how each item has been changed
  • Viewing the video I recorded explaining how CRISPR works
  • Discussion of the pros and cons of CRISPR gene editing
  • How writing non-fiction is different from fiction

This power point presentation generally lasts one hour with time for questions and discussion. Please get in touch to discuss availability and price.

“Yolanda has great presentation skills and performs with grace under pressure!”
